The Burger Whisperer

“The rivalry between Sobelmans and AJ Bombers is best described as an old school, established “best burger” in Milwaukee joint, running up against the new school, or new kid on the block, very fast to be declared Milwaukee’s best “new’ burger joint.  I’m telling you, it’s a city divided! And both joints have super vocal and fiercely loyal fans to one side or the other.  The AJ Bombers supporters are a social media savvy bunch, while the Sobelmans fans are a grass roots angry mob, fuming that someone would threaten the title of their precious hangout.”

So here’s the scoop: the crew from The Travel Channel show, Food Wars will be in Milwaukee from May 6th through May 8th.  Filming one day at each location, AJ Bombers and Sobelmans and a third day at a neutral, to be announced, location for the final taste off. 

The concept of the show for the Milwaukee war is “The Milwaukee Burger”.  You, the fans will submit what toppings for a burger you believe constitute thee “Milwaukee” burger.  Dave and Joe will pick the best submission and agree to build their own version of that “Milwaukee” burger for the face off!  To be clear, both restaurants will be using their single burger straight from the menu, same beef, same bun, same sandwich that you would be served every day.  They will compete based upon which burger tastes better prepared with the chosen iconic “Milwaukee Burger” toppings. 

The restaurant that wins Food Wars gets the honor of listing Milwaukee’s best burger on their menu, exactly the way that it was prepared for the competition.  The loser goes home!  Or they can chose to list their losing burger on their menu as Milwaukee’s 2nd best burger.

Shooting Schedule Update:  Food Wars will be filming at AJ Bombers on Thursday 5/6, Friday 5/7 at Sobelmans and Saturday 5/8 at a “neutral” location (yet to be announced) for the burger face off.

The Travel Channel hopes to air the Milwaukee episode within a month or so of shooting and expects to highlight much of the city of Milwaukee itself in the episode.
